Dallas Arboretum
Vibrant, Ethereal, Romantic
The Dallas Arboretum is a popular engagement photo spot for a reason. With more photo spots than you can probably fit in within your session, the Arboretum will provide lots of variety for your photos! With rows lined with trees, vibrant gardens, bridges, and waterfalls, the Arboretum is a romantic backdrop to showcase your love. The Arboretum is open 9-5 pm most of the year. I recommend trying to go during the week or during a time when it will be less crowded to avoid others in the back of your photos.
2. Mandalay Canal, Irving
European, Elegant, Refined
The Mandalay Canal is one of couples’ favorite spots for their engagement session. You’ll feel like you’re walking down the cobblestone paths in Venice, Italy all while being in Irving, Texas! With a grand staircase, beautiful architecture, and greenery along the canal couples can create plenty of romantic, refined images. Dress up or dress casually, both looks will work for photos at the Mandalay Canal. The European feel will make it seem as though you traveled halfway across the world for your photos all while actually staying local. This elegant look will make your photos stand out from the rest.
3. Arbor Hills, Plano
Nature-filled, Relaxed, Natural
Do you love those natural, relaxed-looking photos of couples? Arbor Hills serves as a great backdrop to achieve those fun, candid photos with lots of areas to move around in and get creative. Couples can utilize the vast open fields for playful photos as well as the bridges and the tower in the preserve. If you schedule your session 1 to 2 hours before sunset, on the right day, we’ll be able to capture the most dreamy engagement photos.
4. Grapevine Lake
Serene, Effortless, Timeless
A slightly lesser-known gem for engagement photos is Grapevine Lake. Take photos by the small cliffs of the lake and you’ll look like you’re on the beach instead of the middle of DFW! Engagement photos taken here carry an effortless feel as couples enjoy themselves by the water and look off into the sunset. This is great for landscape photos worthy of being framed as well as candid photos by the water. Another great photo spot for a beautiful sunset in the backdrop. Easily head over to Downtown Grapevine for some cute, quirky photos on Main Street as well!
